Road-legality for electric scooters differs sharply by country and it is worth reading carefully before you order. In France this scooter falls under the EDPM category and is usable on public roads where the local authority permits, subject to the national 25 km/h limit. In Germany a scooter may only be used on public roads with a KBA type approval (ABE), which requires a design speed of no more than 20 km/h, plus a current insurance plate — a 25 km/h model cannot hold one. In the Netherlands electric scooters are classed as "bijzondere bromfiets" and need RDW approval plus a registration plate; almost no model on the market currently holds one, so public-road use is not permitted. We therefore sell this scooter into France and for private-land use elsewhere. Please confirm your local rules before ordering.

Is the Y400 waterproof?

It is rated IPX4, which covers splashing and light rain. Do not ride through standing water or wash it with a hose.

Can I ride it on German or Dutch roads?

No. Germany requires a KBA ABE limited to 20 km/h plus an insurance plate; the Netherlands requires RDW approval and a registration plate. France permits EDPM use at 25 km/h.
