A folding e-bike is bought for one reason: the bike has to fit somewhere it otherwise would not. A hallway, a boot, a camper van, under a desk. Everything else about the bike is a consequence of that.
The honest thing to say is that "folding" covers two very different machines here. The Zip and T14 fold small and are light enough to carry. The fat-tyre folders — EP-2 Boost, L20 3.0 Boost, Engine Pro 3.0 — fold to fit a car, but at 30–35 kg you are not carrying them upstairs.
